what is dub?
A mostly instrumental style of music originating in Jamaica, produced by remixing existing recordings to emphasize bass and drum rhythms and adding audio effects.
Instead of playing a musical instrument, the dub master plays the mixing board. In effect, dub turns the mixing process into a live performance happening in real time. The purest form of dub wants to be mixed in real time and preferably on an analogue board.
